About TopperReport

TopperReport.com compares mattress toppers sold in the United States. We buy toppers, sleep on them, measure them against the same criteria and publish what we found.

We are a publication, not a shop. TopperReport does not sell, ship, take payment or handle returns for any product on this site. When you follow a link from one of our comparisons you leave TopperReport and arrive at the retailer’s own store, and everything from that point on — the price you pay, delivery, the trial period, returns and refunds — is handled by them.

How we make money

TopperReport is reader-supported. We earn compensation when readers follow links from this site to a retailer, and that never changes the price you pay.

One relationship you should know about before you read our rankings: Tradyx EU OÜ, the company that publishes TopperReport, also owns and sells Dolveo (dolveo.com). Where a Dolveo topper appears in a comparison here, it is our own product being compared against products we do not own, and we earn more when you buy it than when you buy anything else on the page. We would rather you knew that going in. Competitor specifications, prices, trial lengths and warranty terms on this site are taken from each brand’s own published pages, and every one of them takes about two minutes to check.

We do not accept payment from third-party brands in exchange for a place in a comparison, for a score, or for removing a competitor from one.

How we test

Every topper we rank is bought at retail. Each one is fitted to the same base mattress, in the same room, with the same bedding, and slept on for at least a fortnight before it is scored — a fortnight rather than a night or two, because almost any topper feels good on the first night.

We score the three things buyers ask about most: back-pain support (loaded-depth readings at the hip and shoulder, repeated across two weeks, plus overnight recovery checks), comfort (a tester panel, scored alongside how quickly the foam recovers its shape) and cooling (surface temperature tracked across the night). Thickness, cover, certifications, trial length and warranty are read from each brand’s own published pages and re-checked on the date shown on each comparison.

Our support score is a comfort and pressure measurement, not a health measurement. Nothing on this site should be read as a claim that a mattress topper treats, relieves or prevents back pain. A topper is a comfort product, not a medical device.
